About the Department

The department of general surgery has now become a Secondary & Tertiary referral center. An increasing number of patients with complex ailments and patients treated or operated at other centers are referred to Pushpanjali Hospital & Research Centre for state-of-the-art modern management (in operation theatres, surgical intensive care unit, & wards).

At Pushpanjali Hospital & Research Centre, we specialize in the management of complex surgical and critical care cases, including Acute Severe Pancreatitis, Septic Abdomen, and advanced thyroid and parathyroid disorders. Many of these patients require admission to our state-of-the-art Intensive Care Unit (ICU), which is fully equipped to deliver both medical and surgical critical care.

Our ICU is designed for high-dependency care, where patients benefit from advanced parenteral nutrition delivered through specialized catheters inserted into major blood vessels using highly skilled techniques. When necessary, enteral nutrition is administered via tubes placed directly into the intestine, ensuring optimal nutritional support under continuous clinical monitoring.

In addition to laparoscopic cholecystectomy, our surgical team routinely performs laparoscopic appendectomy, hernia repair, bile duct exploration, colonic resection, and splenectomy. The use of the harmonic scalpel ensures precision, reduced blood loss, and faster recovery times. All procedures are carried out under the expert supervision of highly trained technicians and surgeons.
